The Housing Challenge
In the United States, the strength of the middle class has been the foundation of the country's wealth, where hard work leads to a pool of opportunities and successes to build lasting roots, such as homeownership. Much is possible thanks to access to financing standards and a mindset rooted in personal responsibility and ownership. In Peru, significant economic gaps limit access to housing for many families. Income inequality and wealth concentration affect the population's ability to access decent and safe housing, creating a significant housing shortage. Many families often find themselves needing to rent homes or save up to buy modest properties. Many Peruvians admire the American way of life and dream of moving here, but for most, that dream remains unattainable.

Our Mission to Help
At Peru Hope, we’re working to bridge that gap by bringing the values and opportunities of the American middle class to communities in Peru. We build American-style homes with features like trusses, shingles, fenced yards, green lawns, and parking pads—offering dignity, comfort, and security at an affordable rent. Tenants agree to care for their homes, follow community covenants, and take pride in their neighborhoods. Over 10 years, they pay rent totaling about half the home’s cost—after which Peru Hope donates the home to them, free and clear.
Through this model, we’re doing more than building homes—we’re planting seeds of self-reliance, ownership, and hope. By empowering Peruvians to take charge of their future, we help build stronger communities and lasting change.
